All I can say is they are about 3 inches higher rise then the originals. They can be seen on alot of peoples Indians these days but I have yet to find them for sale. If you have a copy…[Read more]

Are these plugs the same being sold by the other Inidan dealers? Where and what manufacturer made the plugs? I have seen KIWI and Ziggy selling the same (or similar) each also claiming to have designed the repro style plug. Difficult the believe everyone came up with the same idea and available on market at same time, one supplier most like is…[Read more]

Hello,
Does anyone out there know if the Autolite distributors or housings were used in any other applications such as generators or 2 cylinder tractors? I’ve seen the caps on some old Onan generators and am wondering if the housings are interchangeable. Also, what is the Autolite number for the correct distributor? Thanks

Another option other than ATF is AMSOIL
0-40 synthetic oil part #AFE-QT.

Lubes the chain correctly, and low
vescosity to reduce clutch drag, compatable
with wet clutch use. I use it in the 2 Indians

Really helps this time of year with the bikes

Indian didn’t stamp the numbers on the neck like you found. Plunger frames were on the left rear plunger, either on the frame lug of the bottom for plunger (41-51) and on the axel houseing (1940) or right frame rail near floor board mount (52-53) On Indian’s the 1st# is Model, no listing for a #1, starts with #2- scout, 3 cheif, 4-four, 5-jr…[Read more]

I bought a frame a while back to give to my son to learn to rebuild. I was not sure what the frame was (and neither was th guy I bought it off of) but the more I look it over, the more I think it is a 40-53 Indian (I was told this because of the rear shocks). Can anyone help me out with further ID of the frame? It does have several numbers…[Read more]

With my Chief I decided to put in a King Clutch which is really pretty sweet. Though I must say just grooving your regular disks is almost as good.
My 741 which I’ve had since the 70’s I pretty much just got used to getting the revs just right and letting it slide into gear without grinding with just a click. This can also be helped by using…[Read more]

The below recommendations are for Indian 30:50, 45, 74, 80, & Four. This out of a manual dated 1951.
SAE50 for 60 degrees & up. SAE30 for 32-60 degrees. SAE20W for 0-32 degrees. SAE10W for below zero temps. I know SAE20W is still available, but SAE10W probably isn’t. SAE10 (without the W) can still be found, but more than likely it will…[Read more]

size=3> While you have your oil pump
apart, take the bottom off. Buy new gears for
it. You will probably see wear on the bottom
cover. You could have this machined down
flat. I bought a brand new wet stone and
finished it with the fine stone. You will receive
gaskets with two different thicknesses.…[Read more] - Load More
