41 should have a timing hole but finding the flywheel mark and identifing aTDC or advance mark can take some studying. If bike has been sittting you’ll want to go through the carb and get all the junk ethanol gas… Read more»

Through the years the registration has gotten mixed up on quite a few titles. You are correct normally it is the frame number to identify the bikes. However, some states have different rules and will use the engine number…. Read more»

The latest Stark’s “Smoke Signal” has approximate values of different running Indians. You can also look on ebay to see what various Indians actually sell for.

ebay has a number of dealers who offer factory starters for 00 Chiefs at very reasonable prices. I have seen a few still out there that are all chrome for a few extra $. Aardvark makes a heavy duty starter… Read more»

Yeah that sounds like it. You can rebuild the solenoid or buy a new starter. A new starter from indian motorcycle leslie would run 270.00 and it includes the solenoid bypass button. Good luck.&

The system is dry. The gasket can harden and get brittle. The gaskets they sell at indian motorcycle leslie are very tough and can be reused many times. If its not on the website you can call them. They stock… Read more»

The seals that they sell are made of a graphite and if you don’t tear them they can be reused many times. They are very tough. Even though you have a dry clutch system it may need the gasket changed.
